I recently quit my “day job” as a registered nurse in Atlanta.  I formerly worked part-time as a pediatric nurse educator.  I have a Bachelor’s degree in nursing and 2 Master’s degrees, one in nursing and one in public health, from Emory University in Atlanta, GA.  My husband and I have opted to move out of Atlanta to Blue Ridge, GA to enjoy a slower pace of life.  We are now running Knit Witch and Amia Yarn Company full-time and are LOVING living in the beautiful North Georgia Mountains!

Knit Witch is dedicated to our own handcrafted items (such as yarn bowls, spindle bowls and ceramic buttons) and Amia Yarn Company is dedicated to helping American alpaca fiber farmers sell their beautiful yarns and roving.
 

This site and whole business idea would not exist if it were not for the help of my wonderful husband and partner, Wayne.  He is retired from the Army National Guard but keeps busy doing wonderful pottery and other crafty things.  Wayne is also really good with graphic arts and website design so he offered to get me “up and running” with a website dedicated to my favorite hobby.  He has done all the logos and artwork on the Knit Witch and Amia Yarn Company sites!  So…….here we are! 

 Wayne and I have been married since April of 2005.  We live in Blue Ridge, GA and just have a great time together enjoying this wonderful path we call life!  We have 3 children:  Nathan – 18, Ian – 23 and Brogan (a new dad!) – 29.  In our off time we enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, canoeing and camping and we are dedicated to environmentally friendly causes and promoting sustainable living.
